50+ Tips And Inspo Photos To Get The Perfect Nails

Acrylic nails have maintained their popularity over time and show no signs of fading away. While they are commonly chosen for special occasions like weddings or graduations, some individuals prefer to have acrylic nails as part of their everyday life.

Personally, I appreciate a more natural appearance when it comes to nails. It surprises me how achievable natural-looking acrylic nails can be, even though many reference images showcase more extravagant designs. By natural, I don’t necessarily mean extremely short nails.

I believe nails can still have a longer length and maintain a natural look as long as they are elegant, well-groomed, and follow current trends in terms of color choices.

Tips For Getting Natural Acrylic Nails:

Certainly, here are a few essential things I recommend knowing and requesting when getting natural acrylic nails done:

1. Prioritize finding a reputable nail salon with positive Google reviews. Trust me, it’s worth the effort. I have learned the hard way that visiting a salon with only average ratings can lead to disappointing results.

2. Bring a specific inspiration photo to your appointment, even if it takes some time to find the perfect one. Based on my experience, technicians often replicate the exact photo, even if you request modifications.

3. Decide on the shape and length of your nails in advance, and don’t hesitate to communicate your preferences as the nails are being applied.

4. Opt for slightly shorter nails than what you initially desire. Keep in mind that nails grow quickly, and excessively long acrylic nails can become inconvenient in no time.

5. Request gel polish for your acrylic nails instead of regular polish. In my opinion, gel polish lasts longer and provides better value for your investment.

6. Clearly express to your technician that achieving a natural appearance is essential to you. Acrylic nails can appear bulky if not properly filed down and kept thin.

7. Determine whether you prefer a matte or shiny top coat and communicate your preference to the technician. If left unmentioned, they will likely apply a shiny topcoat by default.

8. Protect the color and shine of your acrylic nails by wearing gloves while doing dishes. This simple step can help maintain their brightness for longer.

9. Ask for a soak removal when it’s time to remove your acrylic nails. Similar to gel nails, soaking them in acetone for approximately 30 minutes before removal minimizes the risk of damaging your natural nails.

Why Get Acrylic Nails Over Gel?

I tend to rotate between the different types of manicures. I love gel manicures as well as gel tips, but acrylic nails areย by far the strongest.

If youโ€™re worried about breaking a nail or need your nails to last for a few weeks, natural acrylic nails are the way to go.

Theyโ€™re the only type of nails that are sure to last!

Nowadays, as long as you get your acrylic nails properly removed, they arenโ€™t likely to cause a ton of damage to your nails, or at least not much more than gel nails may cause.
