Had a good overall experience with the help of Troy. Was skeptical, hesitant as prior to ordering.. I had some issues over the phone but after purchasing it from Costco online and coming in to get the tires installed… first time I came in I was told it would take 2-3 hrs due to wait and not making an appointment, but I was told to come back next day by Troy and if I was early he would try to get me taken care of. He followed through and i really appreciated that.

Ivan, front desk, was incredibly rude and resistant to honor my warranty even though the other staff members already cleared my tire. Had he maybe asked a couple more clarifying questions he would have had all he needed but instead wanted to assume my tire wasn’t covered. Rude and time wasting.

Changing to 3* because Ivan (manager) called after I sent an email to Costco. He was very patient in listening to my concerns. In fact, he was at the check out yesterday.
11/2/2020: Last year, I gave a 3* rating and realized that there’s actually a separate listing for the Tire Center. Today, I created this separate 2* review.
I got tires installed after ordering online and booking an appointment. Everything went fine at drop-off. The employee was very courteous. Even at pick-up time, another employee was also friendly. I thanked the woman who backed out the car but she didn’t acknowledge me. I thought she may not have heard me.
Since a re-torque is required after 25 miles, I decided to make a quick drive and come back. As told by the check-out person, I parked in the corner spot and stepped out to talk to the employees. The same woman who earlier backed out the car (and possibly ignored my thank you) was very rude and asked me why we came back that quickly. Another man who actually ended up doing the re-torque was surprised that we drove 25 miles when in his opinion we left less than 30 minutes back. He mockingly asked us if we drove to Fort Worth and back. I responded saying no but we went to Southlake and back. He again mockingly responded that it’s not 25 miles to Southlake and I had to remind him that it was 25 miles round-trip. He asked how could we drive that far in 30 minutes. I had to remind him that the speed limit on the highway is 70mph and it takes less than 30 minutes to drive 25 miles (never mind that we were back after 35 minutes). After he was done, I asked him whether he questions everyone who comes back for a re-torque. He said yes but I suspect from my prior experiences and that of other reviews with Asian origin, that people of color are treated differently here.

I took away two stars mainly due to the unfriendly attitude of the tire center. In the past, I did experience it a few times and let it pass. However, today was the worst. Four of us carpool to work and three of us are Costco members. Around 10:40am, we reached Costco and asked to fill air because my colleague’s car was really low and he realized it only after we started for the office. We were told to park in the spot next to the garage doors. By the time my colleague circled around, another car pulled into the same spot because they probably know where to stop for air. Not a big deal – we thought we are second in line and we will be done in a few minutes. Another car came and parked behind us too.
After 10 minutes, no one came to help us and not even to tell us how long it could take. The guy behind us pulled out, stopped to ask the employees (presumably about how long it will take), got angry and took off in a huff! The person in front of us also asked the employees and a fellow passenger even went inside Costco to shop! My colleague (who was driving) went twice to ask what was happening. The second time they finally told him that it could take 45 minutes or longer. Just before deciding to leave (because we had to get to work!), I went and asked the person if I could talk to a manager. Jay stated that he was the manager. He said that one of the employees called in sick and that they are busy (3 employees were busy working on cars in the shop). I told him that the tire center is always busy and that’s why I take an appointment to change my tires. I asked him why no one was helping us and why they didn’t inform us if it was going to take very long. His attitude was quite unprofessional (by Costco standards at least) and he wasn’t apologetic in the least. We understand if they are stressed later in the day but it was before 11am.
I hesitate a lot before posting this part but I have to point out that drivers in all 3 cars and I are Asian (South or East). Don’t know if that plays a part in how they treat customers because I noticed another S. Asian also posted a negative review 2 months back about the tire center.

This place is incredible and I regret not coming here sooner. I’ve always only needed one new tire at a time with the others having plenty of life, so I just kept buying one off from my dealership. When I finally needed two tires, I just got a whole set of four from costco. It’s incredible! Not only do they fill everything with nitrogen, which isn’t impacted by the temperature changes as much, but when I went there on the first day of the Texas Icemageddon 2021, I was just about the only customer there and the guy inside walked out with me to my wife’s car that I was on all the way at the end of The tire center parking area to look at something I was asking about. Incredible service, competitive prices, and extremely good prices if you get a promotion.
I feel that I also need to call out in case someone doesn’t already know it that every Costco tire center has a free automatic pressure station or two outside where you can hook up their hose to your tires and tell it what pressure you want them to be and whether it needs to inflate or deflate them it will get your pressure to where you want it, of course using nitrogen for inflation.
