I hate going into this Briarwood Mall location unless Absolutely needed. The employees are so unfriendly it makes me feel uncomfortable. EVERY time they don’t say hi or ask you if you need help. Yesterday I was there and the one employee just kept staring me up and down – so rude! Management needs to be aware and train these employees better. Teach them what customer service is. They should be nice and friendly to ALL customers and not just selected race.

I normally LOVE Ann Taylor, but I was so disappointed in the size discrimination at this store. There wasn’t anything above a size 14 in pants. There were barely any XL tops. So discouraging.

This Ann Taylor store was the worst I’ve ever visited in great Detroit area. I went to return my online orders yesterday. First I was told by a young sales lady that I can only get store credit for the return because my orders are final sale. The the Asian sales lady, seems to be the store manager came abruptly and told me final sales are not refundable at all. That is okay. But the Asian sales lady was extremely rude. She stared right at my eyes and acted very unfriendly. When I asked the young sales lady whether I can leave the orders there because I don’t want them anymore. The Asian sales lady interrupted and said no, we don’t accept them. And she handed over the clothes back to me and didn’t even give me a bag. I seriously consider not visiting Ann Taylor’s stores even online stores. This experience made me sick.

For many years I have relied on Ann Taylor for attractive, well fitting ‘work clothes’ and have always received good service. Yesterday afternoon, I went to the Briarwood store in a panic with a need to pull together an outfit for an important 6:30pm event and did they ever come through for me! It is so refreshing to get real, person to person help on the floor! As it turned out, there was a 50% off sale going on to boot..1/2 of everything I bought!

Been at this particular Ann Taylor 5+ times this past year and I must say that the customer service has never improved. Having worked retail for 2-3 years prior to starting my professional career, I would say I have a strong understanding of customer service and this store is absolutely horrible. Not once did anyone ask my mother and I if we need assistance although there were two associates walking throughout the store with maybe 1 other customer. Further, when we were checking out (with multiple items), both associates were unfriendly and snobby. While I like the clothing options and sales/discounts, the customer service (or lack thereof) is enough to make me avoid shopping here and choosing the other nearby options (Banana Republic, Ann Taylor Loft, J Crew, White House Black Market).
I recommend to just shop online or go to a different store.
